How does one design a shelter for a skatepark in a garden setting?
We started to think of a structure that could reflect the dynamic nature of youth and at the same time blend into the natural surroundings of a garden park.
Conceived as a gentle wave, ‘crests’ carefully open up to vantage points of the garden lake whilst ‘troughts’ ensure minimal inconveniences to the nearby residences.
Light-weight steel trusses come together and touch the ground lighting as the roof form begins to take shape – one that is appreciated both at a macro and micro scale whilst complying with the specific requirements of a skate plaza.
