Westwood Primary School

Landscape

Upon entering the school, staff, visitors, families and students - alike are greeted by a simple and meaningful, visual landscape garden which complements Westwood Primary’s visions and architectural language.

Representative of the 4 character strengths found in the school's motto, these thriving clusters of bamboo plants carry the essence of the school's steadfast growth and forward-looking quality. As bamboo provides support for each other in clumps with a widespread root system, it also embodies the spirit of the interconnections amongst staff, families and pupils in this institution.

The proposed planting is also sensitive toward the existing environment, allowing sunlight to stream in through the courtyard.

This garden is not accessible for walking as a form of sensitivity towards the adjacent classrooms.
